This week Maurice chaired the Talia Trust Annual AGM.
The meeting concerned the financial year 2025 which was marked by the ongoing conflict and its severe effects on the young people who need the support of the Talia Trust. Also the outlook for 2026/7 was presented.
Key points from the Annual General Meeting
• In 2025 189 children were helped, 158 in various remedial projects and 31 individual psycho-didactic pre bagrut assessments were funded by Talia Trust..
• Remedial help was provided for children were in various projects across the country.
• Currently, two projects, one in the Gaza Envelope, the other in the Krayot, provide help for children suffering trauma from the ongoing war situation
• Because of the war situation we are lacking volunteers to visit projects but we are hopeful of recruiting suitably experienced volunteers in the future.
• Our websites are our main public presence enabling online donations and information about our work, including a weekly blog
• Regular supporters receive an Update Newsletter most months.
• Fundraising includes regular supporters giving small and larger amounts, both in Israel and abroad, as well as a few donors who give substantial sums
• The 2025 accounts and other statutory reports were approved at the meeting.
• Thanks were given to our volunteers and professional advisors who donated their services.
• Plans for 2026 were mentioned including raising a Talia Trust Team for the Haifa Marathon on 20 November 2026. Watch this space for how you can support our participation in this event.
