Shaar Hanegev: Positive News

Immediately after Passover, we continued full force to give more and more students the opportunity to use our services Some students will want to continue during the summer break, and we already have a long waiting list for new students.

Visit to Neve Yosef Project
Our volunteer has made her regular 3 monthly visit to the Neve Yosef Centre in Haifa to discuss the Talia Trust project with the teachers. There are 2 small groups of children who meet for an hour twice a week after their day in their local primary schools. One of the teachers, Sarah, commented that despite the prolonged break because of the war situation, she felt the children had not gone backwards (which is often the case) but returned at the same level as before. We give 'anchors of stability'
We have asked our projects how they are getting on in the current situation. Maayan, the counsellor at Shirat HaYam school in Kiryat Yam writes: 'Returning to the frameworks brings with it great relief, along with the need to process and adapt. Our volunteers ran last week in the Jerusalem Marathon. They are collecting donations for our Talia Trust projects. Talia Trust is continuing to focus on supporting children with specific learning difficulties who have been traumatized and psychologically damaged as a result of the war raged on all our borders. School break amid war

Learning at Shirat Yam School
More fun Chanukah preparations In the visit in December we saw one of our four Talia Trust groups at Shirat HaYam school. All 5 children in this Class 2 group were in attendance. They were very eager to interact with the specialist teacher who had very firm control. Nirim starts its day and the world waits outside
You CAN NOW watch the video showing how Nirim School started the school year. They had the video soundtrack of the famous song by Gidi Gov "A Matter of Time" which was the theme tune for the popular TV series "A Matter of Time" that took place at a high school. We cannot use the music because of copyright but you can listen to the song and see the lyrics in English now here .
