Keren Saar writes about our Talia Trust project at Shaar HaNegev: I am happy to inform you that despite the war we managed to start with some of the students back in February. Immediately after Passover, we continued full force to give more and more students the opportunity to use our services Some students will want to continue during the summer break, and we already have a long waiting list for new students.

We give 'anchors of stability'
We have asked our projects how they are getting on in the current situation. Maayan, the counsellor at Shirat HaYam school in Kiryat Yam writes: 'Returning to the frameworks brings with it great relief, along with the need to process and adapt. The students were very happy to return to school, we see that the consistency of the programme is an anchor of stability for them. Our volunteers ran last week in the Jerusalem Marathon. They are collecting donations for our Talia Trust projects. Talia Trust is continuing to focus on supporting children with specific learning difficulties who have been traumatized and psychologically damaged as a result of the war raged on all our borders. Children in many families are continuing to face new problems as a result of traumatic family events caused by the war. We are, therefore, being asked to expand our

School break amid war
Read our Pesach Newsletter here. This week the 2026 / 5786 Pesach school break begins but school-children, parents and teachers are longing for the day that school will resume in a regular way, meeting in classrooms. Meanwhile we send hopes and wishes for a Happy Pesach holiday, when Israeli children can again play freely outdoors and meet up with their friends. Keren says: 'The Adaptive Leaning Centre in the Shaar HaNegev Psychological Services Centre help more than 50 students every week. These are students who have experienced so many gaps - from the Corona years; from the Iron Swords War; they were evacuated to hotels. And even now we try to get them back to normal. As the war continues and before schools could return to their buildings, Dorit who teaches the Talia Trust project at Givat Gonen Forest School in Jerusalem, writes: 'I can't believe it... Nirim starts its day and the world waits outside
You CAN NOW watch the video showing how Nirim School started the school year. They had the video soundtrack of the famous song by Gidi Gov "A Matter of Time" which was the theme tune for the popular TV series "A Matter of Time" that took place at a high school. We cannot use the music because of copyright but you can listen to the song and see the lyrics in English now here . Vocational Learning
Talia Trust visited Yeadim High School in Kfar Bialik recently to meet the new principal, and the counsellors, to discuss progress of students who have received help from the Talia Trust. The school specialises in preparing students in vocational subjects. We were introduced to students in the bakery where they already make food for events. Thank you for your donations
Maurice writes: I am pleased to report that with the help of our wonderful supporters both in Israel and overseas, the Rosh Hashana Appeal has enabled us to release 41,000 shekels for a further 20 children to receive special individual assistance for 12 weeks at our Shar HaNegev Project. Their school counselors are hopeful that these lessons will ease them back into their regular classes after the traumatic period they have endured during the War. In the photos you can see: 1
