The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Talia Trust for Children was held by Zoom on 24 June 2025.
Maurice presented his report for the calendar year 2024, including the financial situation and how we helped children with specific learning difficulties (SpLD).
We assisted 178 children in 2024 in three key ways, firstly, remedial projects mainly within primary schools.
Secondly, we assisted pre-Bagrut students in obtaining essential psycho-didactic tests. Finally, a new role has been funding emotional support for children with SpLD to help them cope with the added trauma of the continuing war and lost school days.
Maurice thanked the committee, professional advisors and volunteers in our range of projects.
He brought the participants up-to-date with a couple of key points from 2025. The on-going war situation has made increasing requests for psychological help which we have provided in both the Gaza Envelope and in the north, both individually or in small groups, according to need.
However, apart from the committee, volunteers have been unable to continue. We are actively seeking volunteers with appropriate experience in education or social work to liaise with schools, and also volunteers proficient to widen our presence in the media. What help can you give?
